Adaptation from Mahmoud Darwish

One day I should be an artist
A master of watercolors and acrylic
I should be able to depict the unseen
And then blow life into the unseen
I should not bound myself to be a bird or a fish
I should fly like one and swim like the other, but in dreams.
When the real does not suffice,
Dreams should arrive,
embrace us and take into itself
One day I should become what I want
And this should not be hard
I should not have to fight against myself to be myself
It should be easy, so that easy should not exist as a concept
I am tired now,
One day I should lean my head on yours and know that I can then rest.
